etag

Etag ,

I was in the Johannesburg last week, and then realized where the etag toll will be implemented.
If one is the authority who has to uphold the infrastructure of your country, etag makes perfect sense. Why?
The position is in the heart of transport in Johannesburg. It would generate income very quickly and in very high income.
To implement etag, the way they do, is very clearly like the “Titanic” mentality, unsinkable.
Who would stop them?
The National Treasurer is so sure of his success; he does not even have a contingency plan in place nor plan B.
Citizens of this country have protested on a large scale, yet Government ignores and reprimands them.
Arrogance have now even implemented a threatening position of higher cost, if Public do not buy their etag.

From the position of a Tax payer’s point of view, this is ludicracy. They do not just get treated with disrespect, but they are being ignored.
From the position of a business owner, who has business in the area, this etag must be a nightmare.
Looking at the economical situation the world is in at the moment.
1.       Our petrol price has rocketed through the roof, and we will see the ripple effect on our consumer goods in no time.
2.       Our funds and available monies have been depleted to nerve wrecking lows, because of sustained corruption during the past 18 years. Corruption in an unprecedented scale, not just sickening to the guts, humiliating to any good person who fought for freedom, but shameful to a Government, who rule under the flag of “righteousness”
With etag, somebody somewhere will suffer the “gold diggers” syndrome again, because a lot of money will be accumulated in a short period of time, with the incentive that this will be a lifelong income.
It is only logic that one already sees the future of corruption, of mishandled funds of anger towards this monster.
To implement such an “easy”tag system in the HEART of your economy is nothing short of parasiting. The cost of everything will go up, living, transport costs and eventually consumer goods.
This is the worst arrogance of ignorant Authority, and I really do not care who our National Tesourie is, or how many degrees he has.
You should go and study the History of Ancient Rome, to understand you arrogance.
Just the fact that you are forced to go about in such a manner of implementing a system that is clearly not desirable to Public, Private and business sector . To the backbone of our country, our workers and the transport that will get them to their jobs. It only shows that you have a money problem and you are looking for an easy fix, and all of that only indicate a misappropriation of funds up to now, and an expected corruption to follow.
If you need a quick fix, to find money. Go to the 14% VAT we are already paying. Go to the Tax we are already paying. If you cannot find the funds there, find the one with the hand in the coocky jar and chop off the hand. Find the person who has no clue on how to manage the state funds and fire that person.
Etag will be a can of worms that will bring the already fragile economical situation in our country, that is on its knees, to the ground.
